Weddings at the Guildhall

Expressions of Interest Invited - Weddings at the Guildhall

East Looe Town Trust invites expressions of interest for a company or individual to take over the running of the weddings at our Grade II listed Guildhall.

This exciting opportunity gives you the chance to work alongside the happy couple from the first enquiry to the actual ceremony, making sure they have the special day they want.  You will liaise with registrars and celebrants, organise the layout, seating and decoration of the Chamber to meet the specification of the wedding couple.

Expressions of interest should include:

1. Contact name, phone and email details

2. Company name and registration number - where applicable

3. Registered and contact address

4. Type of organisation

5. An outline of your business proposal

6. Any additional information applicants consider relevant to their proposal

Should you wish to visit the building before submitting a proposal, please contact the Trust Manager on info@eastlooetowntrust.co.uk or 01503 263709 or 07494 127778.

Please submit your proposals in writing by 31st December 2022 to the Trust Manager via email or by post to the Guildhall, Fore Street, East Looe PL13 1AA

We look forward to seeing you on the Wooldown on 2nd June.  We aim to be as environmentally friendly as possible - so if you have a music festival cup, please bring this with you (rather than use a single use cup from the bar).  There will be a bbq and bar - card and cash payments will be accepted.

Fingers crossed for the ELTT bid to the National Lottery Heritage Fund for a substantial award to protect Looe's community lifeboat heritage and the restoration of the Grade II listed Old Lifeboat Station and Watchtower.

The Trust has been delighted with the strong support for the project, following open days and public consultations.  A lot of work was put into the bid by Trust Manager Jane Day (pictured here with Trust Vice Chairman Brian Galipeau) plus trustees Petra Stephenson and Sara Hawkins.

If the bid is successful, the town will have a new all year round, free visitor attraction in the Watchtower Crew Room.  It will tell the story of the Looe Lifeboats 1866 to 1930.  We will be celebrating in words and pictures the family links between the brave lifeboat crews of the past and those of today's brave crews.

The Trust offices will occupy the first and second floors, while the old boathouse will be leased as a gallery showcasing local artists.

We are hoping that local organisations and individuals will want to help the project come to life with match-funding.

So please watch this space - and keep your fingers crossed!
